I used "Johns" to allow for various spellings Johnson/Johnston/Johnstone

If unlucky with that maybe "Jons" again to allow for different spellings  :-\

If you use John you will get 1000's  ;D

Hi Ammack , have Margaret McLean Welsh , ( Johnstones daughter) dying in 1864 in Anderson Glasgow aged 48 . Death cert states parents deceased ( Johnstone and Margaret Hunter McLean ) so thats a window of 13 years ,1851 census - 1864 daughters death cert . Theres a tree online stating 1854 but when i asked how she got the date she was very vague lol. Will keep looking, Raymie.

Hi, found these 2, maybe???

Deaths:

Margaret McLean
died: 4 May 1853
age: 57
buried in the Old Dalbeth Cemetery, Glasgow

John McLean
occ: labourer
High Street
age: 56
cause of death: dropsy
died: 28 Aug 1854
Ayr, Ayr

Depending on who the informant was, it is possible that Johnston's name was listed as John. I could find no Johnston McLean. Hope this helps, Kim

* I did find a John Johnston McLean but he died single at age 20.
