Good afternoon,
I am searching for birth record of Albert Caldbeck born ballacolla queens county Ireland.
year of birth 1832 parents William & Anne Caldbeck. I do not have the maiden name for Anne nor middle names. I have no information on other siblings. According to Albert's marriage certificate his religion was protestant. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Kind regards, Sharon

Hi Sharon and welcome to Rootschat!  I have asked for a moderator to move this post to the Queens County (Laois) board!  Sure there will be some assistance there for you.

Welcome to Rootschat  :)
The information you are looking for is well before the start of civil registration in Ireland so you would have to start looking for church records but in order to do so you need to know where the family lived (parish if not actual townland) and their religion (although many church records from this period do not survive and of those that do not all are online)
When and where did Albert get married?
Where did you get the parents' names from?

A William Caldbeck of Ballacolla-cottage, Ballacolla, Abbeyleix died 20 Apr.1862 but his widow's name was Mary-

A Mary Caldbeck, widow, of Ballacolla House died 12 Oct.1873- son Richard.

Does Albert's marriage (or death) certificate list father's occupation?

One to keep in mind-
Dublin Evening Mail, 18 Aug.1852: August 16, in Aghavo Church, by the Rev Richard Kennedy, William Hely, Esq., of Johnstown, county of Kilkenny, to Martha, second daughter of William Caldbeck, Esq., Clerk of the Peace, Ballacolla Cottage, Queen's County.

Looks like the William Caldbeck who died in 1862 was 95 years old-

Thank you for your posts. The names of William & Anne's as Albert's parents had been obtained by Albert's death certificate. I do not have the birthplace, parish or actual town for William Caldbeck nor any info on his occupation. The information I have is on Albert Caldbeck's son's birth certificate [John Albert Caldbeck] which states his father Albert as being born in Queens County Ireland aged 26 at date of sons birth 1862. Albert's death certificate states he was 60 years in 1892. Conflict here on the date of his birth [between 1832 -1836]
An immigration record shows an Albert Caldbeck age 22 Ref: 1279 sailed from Liverpool on 12/12/1851 on board the 'Earl of Charelemont' arriving at Port Jackson NSW on 29/03/1852 from Liverpool.
Albert married Eliza Singleton in Sydney Australia in 1854.

RICHARD CALDBECK, of Ballacolla, Queen's

he corresponds with above.

Thank you Ros, I have seen this notice before & it turned out Richard's parents names were different. I thought we were on a winner too.

Good afternoon,
Thank you again for all the information you have researched.
In reply to the questions asked, no information had been given on either the Marriage or Death certificate of Albert Caldbeck in regard to William [his father] occupation.
As for the Chatham Barracks registration of an Albert Caldbeck I had found this information too and believe it to be my Albert.
I wonder if the information you have provided regarding a Mary Caldbeck if she may have been christened a Mary Ann & used her middle name as so many have been known to do in the past?
Regards,
