indicates that Throckley was incorporated into the Parish of  Newburn in 1936, and your link shows Newburn was in Northumberland South

Although I think the quote you gave was from Genuki? This was based on Whellan's Directory of 1855, at which time Throckley was a Township of Newburn Parish, as opposed to being a Civil Parish in its own right    http://www.genuki.bpears.org.uk/NBL/Newburn/
