Where did you find the information?  I thought that the Scottish Census information was only available as a "Index only" record?

Further to your earlier post;

"Just to help with Charles snr's birthplace - Is this with this parents in 1881 - His mother born Scotland??  Living at 1 St Pauls St Brighton and all children born Brighton"

Charles' service papers show his father's address as 1 St Pauls Street, Brighton, so there is no doubt that this is "my" man.
