SMITH/BRINKLEY
« on: Saturday 19 September 15 19:45 BST (UK) »
i have joshua smith born 1927 in essex.his mother was a brinkley.we think she may have been called emily but we are not sure.the family travelled essex and hertfordshire.he was also known as richard joshua smith and was buried and married as richard joshua but he definately was registered as joshua smith mothers maiden name brinkley.
joshua smith 1926 in Leytonstone? Died around 1995 he had a twin brother who died but we don't know his name. Brothers and sisters Sophie, George, Irene, Richard, Pricilla and Betsy and Anna who both married Wenmans. He also had a half brother Joseph Brinkley and possibly
any help with his perants names would be great.qalso any help with his mothers names.

joshua smith 1926 in Leytonstone?

His birth registration is on freebmd 1927 - mmn spelt as Brinckley.  His birth cert will give parents names

Have you looked for a marriage for his parents

Freebmd only shows mothers maiden surname.

Also - if mum was previously married you could encounter the following scenario:

Ms Brinkley marries Joe Bloggs
Joe dies
Mrs Bloggs marries Mr Smith
However - baby Smith's birth cert will only show mums birth surname (ie) Brinkley

They may not have married but if mum was previously married you are looking for a marriage under her previous married name - not Brinkley

You really need the birth cert to get parents Christian names
