Northcott family of **St Giles-in-the Heath, Devon**

There are two more births, both with the surname Hockin and Martha claims to be a widow in both instances. I have a feeling that perhaps she never married at all.

I couldn't find anything on Pria or Lewis. Is Pria short for Priscilla? There is a marriage of a Northcott to a Priscilla. How did you find these names?

Hi again, well at least when William Hockin was born it would appear the couple were married:-

William Hockin 28th June 1835 St Giles in the Heath Father William Mother Martha

The Pria and Lewis Northcott came about by searching "all Northcotts born c 1800+ at St Giles on the Heath.... Pria only poped up i think in the 1871 census, but nothing more on him whatsover? strange that... even with an unusual name. I noticed another family related to him but that all they no as well. Im keen to see if anybody buried in the local St Giles in the Heath Church yard to help shed some more light.
I have also been concentrating on Martha Northcott born abt 1801 at Virginstow and have found a couple of siblings with the father listed as Richard so... another branch back.

Hi,
There is a burial of Martha Hocking, 20.10.1896 aged 99 at The Union House, Launceston. Could this be her?
There is also a burial record for William Hocking, 4.5.1837 but his age is 75.

Hi I think that Martha Hocking is in the Union Workhouse Launceton aged 95 in 1891 b Boyton, Cornwall

Bingo yes Pria is infact Isaiah i had Pria in 1871 census only and Isaiah in 41,51,61 & 81 census both married to Elizabeth. Wow that mystery solved
