I was beginning to wonder if Andrew snr had been transported
FYI The Colony of Victoria was not a penal colony
.
I have duplicated the shipping information and added an explanation....
Index to Assisted Immigrants arriving Colony of Victoria at Public Records Office of Victoria [A subscription only website has copied these records to their website and I have found errors with the names of the ships simply because not all pages have been transcribed and imaged
Always pays to search the original source of any records] The
OITHONA left Plymouth on 21 Oct 1854.

disposal list which you have viewed on an online subscription website.

If Catherine wasn't baptised prior to the family emigrating, perhaps she was baptised at the Scots Presbyterian Church, Tyers Street, Portland which was built c1850.

It certainly looks like them on the the 1851 census in Dundee too. No wonder I couldn't find them. From the birth places of their 3 children on the 1851 census, it seems they were should have still been in Perth in 1841, though there is a big gap between the births of Jean/Jane and Ann.

http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article64747358Just a comment....why do chatters bother with online trees that are invariably full of errors, not referenced with sources, copied and pasted over and over and often border on the realms of genealogical fantasy. We have excellent resources in Australia...let's use them. Many of us have our own resources so just ask for help.
Try familysearch for pre 1855 events in Scotland.
