Michael Stapleton of Sedgemoor (Knigh) and Ms. Hogan
« on: Thursday 24 September 15 12:28 BST (UK) »
A google search turned up this. Michael Stapleton was my Great, Great Grandfather and supposedly a "very kindly man". Obviously this is now open to question so I was wondering if anyone can give any advice on how to research this further!

Huge thanks in advance:

Oh, no worries there - I already have all the census data on them, baptisms, marriages etc. and have even visited the house! I was just wondering how I'd get more detail on the aforementioned case at the Quarter Sessions...

You could also try the Petty Sessions cases on FindMyPast if you have a sub.
Looking on FamilySearch there are some female Hogan cases in 1904
Also Michael Stapleton cases as defendant from different years.

"The people of Ardcroney are about building a house for the poor imbecile woman named Hogan, against whom an ejectment decree was obtained at the lJst Quarter Sessions by Michael Stapleton , of Sedgemoor. This is not the first occasion on which the- Ardcroney men have g iven proof of their sympathy with the down trodden and oppressed.
