Did Peter and Mary baptise their children at St Pauls Warrington, given as living in Stamford ST?
There is also a George and Elizabeth Sutcliffe baptising their children at the same church at a similar time also of Stamford ST. George and Elizabeth are living on Stamford St in 1871, as are Peter and Mary. Perhaps George is another brother to Peter and Thomas?

Must stop looking at this one.
I have become fixated on the family of Isaac and Sarah HARTLEY (1841 Warrington);my mind is like a broken record...same thing over and over and over again.

This family just doesn't want to be found pre 1871 >:(

Decided to try a different tack.....found a burial for an Isaac Sutcliffe 1878, age 66, registered Culcheth, Leigh. On lancashirebmd

SUTCLIFFE   Isaac   66   Culcheth   Wigan & Leigh   CUL/21/125

Culcheth is near Warrington? But wouldn't you know it...can't find him 1871,or 1861....can anyone else find him?

I too am favouring the Hartley family.

Alice Hartley b abt 1844 is with her father Isaac in 1861 in Warrington.

1871 3911/98/44

Alice Sutcliffe 27 yrs b Warrington is a boarder in Culcheth.

Heywood

I too had found the Hartley family in 1851 with children Joseph, Thomas, Peter, George and Alice.(1841 there is William and James). I was trying to work out why the different surname ...at first thought it was a mistake of the person writing the census returns but then found the family in 1841 AND 1851. They changed their surname for some reason? I was going round in circles so gave up before I went crazy ;D
