William Francis Duncan Gray. Queensland1963
« on: Saturday 26 September 15 15:28 BST (UK) »
I found a reference to WDF Gray on the recent FindMyPast freebie. Death Queenland 1963

I have his birth(1898), his parents, grandparents etc
I have his military history WWI and his probable Irish police record.

FindMyPast showed William Duncan Francis Gray (has to be the same guy!) died Brisbane, Queensland Nov 1963 . . source “Cannon & Cripps” Ref 824.

Can I find out more about his death, his travel to Australia, life in Queensland, etc.
Who/what is Cannon & Cripps?

Thank you, Claire
I've only looked at the Australian board once before.
I'm going to look at the various resources tomorrow when I've the house to myself!

Hi,

According to the 1943 Commonwealth Electoral Roll William Francis Duncan Gray and Marguerita Gray were residing at 65 Juliet St Mackay were William was recorded as a seaman.  A for sale  advertisement in the Mackay Daily Mercury in October 1938 refers to the seller as Capt W. Gray of 65 Juliet Street, Mackay so it appears that William held an important maritime position somewhere, maybe with coastal shipping or harbour pilot etc.
