Assurance Assitant Superintendant
« on: Sunday 27 September 15 11:34 BST (UK) »
In 1910 my gg grandfather George Felton was listed as a Assurance Assistant Superintendent in Leyton, Essex and wondered what this job might involve? I know he was a devote Christian and later became known Superintendent for Salvation Army so im guessing thats who he was working for in 1901.

Thank in advance x

I think he would be working for a Life Assurance company, assisting the Life Assurance Superintendent.

So i've just found out that George was an Assurance Assistant Superintendent for the Salvation  Army and not an Insurance Company.
He became a District Superintendent with the Salvation Army Assurance Society.

So still with a Life Assurance company - just that it's the Salvation Army one!
