I can see newspaper references to "Holmoor House, Taunton's Public Assistance Institution", but not yet an address.

Ruskie below mentions "Trinity". One newspaper item (1935) refers to a charity collection in Taunton, broken down by wards ie
"Trinity Ward - Amount collected; ....................; Holmoor House, per Mrs Wood 4s 7d; ...."

Found an article through Find My Past about Holmoor House, from Taunton Courier & Western Advertiser, in May 1946:

Holmoor House was "Taunton's Public Assistance Institution" . The article went on to describe the problems with overcrowding as improvements to provide "eventide homes for old people" had been delayed because of the war.

Thanks , reading between the lines it seems a progression from the workhouse to me . The lady in question was 86 yrs old in 1951 and died of acute bronchitus . I tried entering Holmoor House on FindMyPast but nothing showed
Regards
Alan

HI!

I went to the Newspaper section, then put Holmoor in the surname section...many interesting articles....scanning through, it seems it was in South Street , Taunton...just Google-mapped it and could see no sign except 2 boarded up buildings which may have been the location.

Thanks , I will do that . There does not seem to be much online about Kibbear either , on the death cert it states she was from Kibbear , Pitminster ? and the informant Kibbear Trull . More work to do on it .
Regards
Alan

There's a Kibbear, part of Trull, not far from Pitminster.
Here it is on a map:

Today, there seems to be a Kibbear House, Farm, Cottage, a Little and a Bungalow! ;D
I agree with everyone else about Holmoor House.
