My first thought was Asia - with the Sampan- maybe the coast of China? Most of the southern Asian countries are more verdant and abundant with growth

I don't think it's a lighthouse, looks like the statue at  rio de janeiro to me.  :)

Its not Christ the Redeemer..but I agree its religious , maybe a cross

thanks for that, never thought of Rio been around Scotland nothing resembling the painting, on the back a price of 2 shillings, it was in a frame so I was told, its not your average drawing paper very tough, I don't know anything about painting material's, again thanks for all of your input,
