Cork military cap?
« on: Friday 02 October 15 09:39 BST (UK) »
Does anyone recognize this cap worn by a Cork man?  I think the picture was taken around the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th century. I'm not entirely sure that it is a military cap as the jacket, shirt and tie appear to be rather rudimentary.

Yes, and for once the cap badge should be identifiable, although I don't know what it was.

Looks to be a A.S.C man in Hospital blues then.

I wonder if there is a name for him, he looks to have that "Thousand yard stare" poor devil.

Thank you all so much. (Jess, Shaun,Regorian).

It looks like A.S.C is the most likely. I had not heard of 'hospital blues' convalescent clothing but having just googled-imaged it I think you are absolutely right. Perhaps there is a story here of which we had no knowledge.

Again huge thanks to all.

PS. Sorry the picture was so big. I'm still learning.
