The Leeds Mercury 23 Oct 1813 contains an "appeal " by the Executors of "William Wainright, late of Malton" for information.

Hallmark - great job and so informative.

Thanks Hanes -- I had found that some time ago

They were appealing for info on any will William *might* have made during a trip to Yorkshire in 1812

Presumably none was forthcoming as they went with the will written 1802 with a codicil 1810

I now have a copy of the will and am trying to sort out the previously unknown relatives mentioned in it!

On checking the dates, it is interesting to note that probate was granted on 31 August 1813 - some 6 weeks before the notice appeared in the paper requesting info on a later will.

So presumably the Executors had started distributing the legacies and someone was not happy about not getting what they expected?

No problem..and a nice find too from you, Do you know what the appeal was for?  Information on a person? It's possible they were trying to find if a beneficiary was still alive or could be found etc.

If dead, no living kin then ruled out as beneficiary etc

Hallmark --

They were appealing for info on any will William *might* have made during a trip to Yorkshire in 1812

"It had come to the notice of the Executors notice that Wm W had worked on testamentary papers during his stay at Wentworth during July August Sept of 1812 but no such papers had been found"

Presumably none was forthcoming as they went with the will written 1802 with a codicil 1810
