Indian records
« on: Saturday 03 October 15 11:42 BST (UK) »
Hi Help needed please.

I have a family member who was born in Lahore in 1888c,He married in Birmingham in England in 1917.
I am looking to see if anyone can help me try and trace his journey from India to the UK or about his birth family in India.

The only possible information i have was that He worked  his passage from India via Argentina to UK,how true this is i am unsure.
To my knowledge he came on his own at working age,so i am estimating that it would have been between 1900 and 1917 when he married.
I do not have access to British census so not sure if he showing on any.
Two different records of his marriage are showing as Harry C Singh the other being Harry G Singh.
He married a Louie Bradshaw.

Hi Rosie
Yes he did remain in England.
Yes you are right there were two Females born to this couple.

Looks spot on to me!

I will need to have a look at the ship Vilano.

So could He have possibly arrive in Argentina from India via another ship.

Thanks Ivor

Hi
Just an update to my post, we know now that Harry's Indian name was Harcharan Singh.
He died in 1951 in Smethick.

As i said before He was born approx 1889c in Lahore India, and He married in 1917 in Birmingham, England.

( I am unable to find when He arrived in England, or any of His past in India )
