This has all the 1910 census questions in a format that is easier to read - https://www.census.gov/history/www/through_the_decades/index_of_questions/1910_1.html  Year of immigration just means when they arrived.

Thanks for that extra information.  Unfortunately Henry wasn't in the country when a census was taken, so that's disappointing.

Was there a Census in the U.S.A. in 1920, and if so is it available now?  I ask because Peter was still in the country in 1920, so I wondered if he appeared in the Census.  It would be interesting to see where he was living, whether he had moved from the 1910 address.

Thanks

Yes, the US census is available up to 1940.  You can search for yourself at www.familysearch.org, but I didn't see any likely matches for him.

It appears he was living in the same place in 1920 as where he died in 1923. It looks like he was boarding with an English family.

Thank you very much for this information.  I don't know if I can access the U.S.A. census on Familysearch - I don't seem to have much success with the website now.  I used it at least 10 years ago for information, but it has changed a lot since then and I have problems with it.

Thanks once again.

Some of the census years have only a transcription on familysearch.org, but it is free to search.  This one-step search may also make looking for census records easier - http://stevemorse.org/census/freesearch.html
