Sophie Rusiski - Alexander Burrell
« on: Wednesday 07 October 15 00:06 BST (UK) »
I am desperate for some help, please.  I am searching for Sophie Rusiski, parents: John Rusiski (born in Poland) and Mary Bohn (born in Czechoslovakia).  She was born in Pennsylvania abt. 1913 and married Alexander Burrell (born in Edinburgh, Scotland). They lived in Detroit Michigan and had two children, (*) (1936) and (*) (1939-1940).  Alexander died in 1950 so she may have remarried.  I have Sophia in the 1930 census, and as a married couple in the 1940 census.  I can find nothing showing what or where Sophie and children were/are after Alexander's passing in 1950.

Please, can anyone help me find some documentation, dates etc.  I would be very grateful.

Thanks  SO  much for your quick responses.  It amazes me how fast you are finding details that I have spent hours working on.  I now have a question re:  how do I print out the obituary for the sister?  I've tried to cut and paste, with no success.  Sorry....

I use the Windows 'snipping' tool.  You will find it among the Windows Accessories.  Use the tool to select the part of the image you want.  Then click on File>Save As and give the clipping a name.

One other thing that I find useful is to snip out the article with a bit of extra space at the top.  Then I pick up the image with the Windows Paint program, use the eraser to white out the top bit and then use the text tool to write in the name of the newspaper, the date and the page number.  That way the source never gets separated from the text.

www.findagrave.com has an obit for the brother, Michael Malenich.  Perhaps he is a step-brother

Thanks.  Strange that his sister or stepsister, Sophie, who didn't pass away until 2001, was not mentioned in the obit.
