Having difficulty finding comprehensive records for Hoarwithy & Hentland

Does anyone know if records exist for the period 1770-1850?

Hi Rich,
You could try the Herefordshire Family History Society.

Hoarwithy wae a   Chapel of ease. Only opened in 1841, any records come under hentland, Hereford archives have hentland records and bishops transcripts for this period listed in their catalogue, but I do not know if they are available online.

Thanks, all

I've joined HFHS today - I'll see what that brings

I am trying to find a marriage of my 4 x ggf WILLIAM WOOD to my 4 x ggm SARAH (maybe Ostler)

My 3 x ggf, JOSEPH WOOD was born in Holme Lacy c1820. Subsequent children of William & Sarah were born in Hentland

William & two sons, Timothy & George were transported in 1843 for sheep-stealing

William & two sons, Timothy & George were transported in 1843 for sheep-stealing

On your other thread Dundee left a post stating ..

The Hulk registers show that George was sent to the Penitentiary on 23 Feb 1843, while William and Timothy were off to VDL.  The most likely scenarios are that he either served his time in prison, was sent to Bermuda, or died.

Also when looking for a marriage for William and Sarah try the surname of HOOD for William.

Again Dundee noted on your other thread

Also of interest is that William's record states that his proper name is HOODS.

Thank you, all for your help

William appears to have been sent to the Jericho Station in Tasmania - I'm now trying to find out when he died as I feel confident he never returned to Britain

For some reason best know to them Ancestry will not add Hentland to their list of Herefordshire Parishes. Does anyone how this problem might be resolved ?
