Peascham Surname
« on: Friday 09 October 15 22:53 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help, I'm not sure where to start or how to find out, but, I have found some old photographs and other pieces of interest, not connected to me at all, there's some wedding photographs and a family group photograph aswell as a few other random ones, an envelope with these has an address on for Widnes and is dated 1997, the photos are 40's/50's I'd say, but the surname is Peascham, I tried searching and not a thing comes up anywhere for that name or address, I even tried Peacham, still nothing, there's no full first name just the initial, L.

Anybody that's more clued up I'd appreciate some help in deciphering who these photographs belong to as its a mystery right now.

Can you post a scan of the name? Could it be Beacham?

Can't post it at the moment but its on a typed label from 1997, it could be a typo and I did think Beacham.

Free bmd does not have any Peashams from 1900 to 1983.
It does have a few Peachams.
The marriage could be anywhere in the country, and a later son/daughter or grandson/daughter living temporarily in Widnes.
Have you considered contacting Widnes (?) library for an ER search?

If the envelope is 1997 - the electoral rolls are on Find My Past from 2002 --- however it doesn't mean that the owner of the photos has the same surname.

I would put a plea in the local newspaper covering that area.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

I thought that Julz meant that the address was for an L 'Peascham' in Widnes in 1997.

Do not see how ER's for 2002 are going to help identify someone in 1997.

Thank you for all your replies, I'm still having no luck.

Yes, the envelope is addressed to a Mr L Peascham in Widnes, and is date stamped 1997, but this contained a brochure about a hotel down South. The photos in a separate folder contained wedding pictures and various other pictures, all printed down South, and they are mainly black and white, from 40's or early 50's. I did find that the house in Widnes was sold in 2001, but no leads as to who the previous owner was.

It's like I'm in an episode of Poirot!
