1834-1836 Death of Elizabeth "Betsy" Jamison Martin
« on: Monday 12 October 15 10:02 BST (UK) »
Hoping to find information about Elizabeth "Betsy" Jamison Martin who died most likely in/near Dromara between 1834 when son was born and August 1836 when her husband Joseph married Mary Adair in Dromara Presbyterian Church.

Betsy likely was born about 1810 and married Joseph Martin about 1830 when their first child, Elizabeth was born. She and Joseph also had 2 sons: Thomas June 1833 and George W April 1834.

A volunteer with the Dromore Church of Ireland informed me that she was part of Jane Jamison Spence's family, but years of scouring the internet resources (ancestry, familysearch, Ros Davies rootsweb site, findmypast, Ireland XO, and many many other places) plus writing the churches in Dromore and Dromara, I've not been able to verify her parents or her death.

Perhaps someone is related to either this JAMISON or MARTIN family?
Thanks so much!

You can order tape 496723 Item 1 at your local LDS family history library.  That tape will have the Dromara Presbyterian church records since 1810.  Before 1810, you need to get someone in Belfast to go to the Public Record Office of Ireland to search tape MIC/1P/89/1.  I use http://www.familyulster.com.  You may use my extract at adair.ca/DromaraChurch/index.html.  There used to be a search at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyDown.htm at the Dromara link.  You can ask LDS for help with this.  Consult www.familysearch.org for library locations.

Thank you so much, Joe! We were in touch through email about 18 months ago. Nice to reconnect. Unfortunately, I didn't see anything in your extract and the search function for the IGIBatchNumbers no longer works. I don't drive anymore so would be unable to order the film to view at my local FHC. Nevertheless, I'm thankful for your reply.
all the best!

Wow!  Thank you so much for the information.  I think we will have to go to their library to reference the images though.  But who knows about the future.  I knew they were digitizing some years ago.
