Have found them on the 1861 census.
Some of the children are down as Robbie but George and Elizabeth are recorded as McRobbie.
At Fairnie Crae. I searched Ancestry for son John born 1855 Rathen.

Hope this helps

Norma

Think I may have found them on the 1891 census on Ancestry but the transcription is awful. They are listed as George McRobie born 1816 Aberdee and Elva McRobie born  1815 Lonmay

Hope this helps

McRobbie is one of those names which can be spelt every which way. If my family-history researches are correct, I'm descended from a couple called Patrick Gellatly and Jean McRobbie in Moneydie near Perth. On their headstone her name is spelt Crobie - presumably easier to carve?

It would be helpful if you could tell us where they were in 1891, Norma. I am having difficulty finding them in ancestry under the names & spellings you mention.

Sorry my apologies. Blame my age. Just looked again for them and they are under MCROBLE.

I typed in Elva and birth 1815 Lonmay and up they came.they are living at Upper Achnagorth in the parish of King Edward.

Hope you can find them now
