Thank you Merlin. Another dead end

Cando , your suggestion on H Simpson the Shipping Agents makes sense apart from marriage notice. Unless he wanted to indirectly inform people around the State.

It was usual for men to describe themselves in that era as son of Mr....usually Esq of a place or with their own occupation.  In this case I think Thomas H wanted others to be aware of his 'importance' ie he was a past employee [late] of H. SIMPSON.  Of course I may well be completely off track....often am ::) ::) :P

I notice that Thomas H gives his occupation as accountant in a later directory of Penola.

Just an update and a further search query relating

Since the last posting I have received DNA results. I have not being able to rule in or out any of the possibilities. Thats ok , its a long term thing for me.

My next query relates to Johns daughter and grandson?? Olive Louise Simpson b1891 is named as the mother of Gordon William Simpson b1911 Father NULL/Unknown. In 1924 Olive marries Thomas Frederick Kent and they have 2 girls. Small towns still print papers and still hold secrets inside.

In a Trove article its states he is the brother of Olive http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article77983883

accused went to a house in George: street; where Gordon William  Simpson lived with Mr. and
Mrs. T. F Kent, Mrs.Kent being his sister

So why bother us with this I hear you groan. We have established John , Olives father only had 1 son William John and this is confirmed in DC stating 'Living children' 1 Son 4 Daughters . So the article is false, and I have already said its probably a hidden secret and it doesnt matter now , but gee it makes it hard trying to unravel it all :)

My query relates to Gordons wife. If he had a legal wife. How do I know he had a wife? I dont actually apart from this mention in another article. http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article78150133

At 3.30 a.m.. on April 1, Gordon William Simpson, of Lake Terrace, was awakened by his -wife.'. After getting out of bed and dressing* with his wife

Gordon William Simpson died in 1981 aged 69 and his plaque only gives his name and DOD. Carinya Gardens Cemetery

Gordon was also the Post Master at the new Mt Gambier South - Lake Terrace Post Office

Can someone kindly look for a marriage and any children. If they are still living just mention yes or no.

And no , neither my mother or I (so she says) had any idea of Cousin Gordon

As you are aware marriage regs are only available in SA to 1937.  I did read somewhere that there may be a release of registrations to mid 1940's.

Australian Electoral Roll
