Thomas Steadman christened 1828 Oswaldkirk
« on: Monday 12 October 15 16:26 BST (UK) »
Looking for more information about my great, great grandfather Thomas Steadman.  Baptism shows 26.5.1828 in Oswaldkirk with a father John and a mother Mary.  I have been unable to find any more information about his parents / siblings.  Believe I have found him in 1841 Weather Gate, Old Byland, Birdforth, Yorkshire, England. Occupation: Agricultural Labourer. Aged 13 years.  And 1851 Youlton, Yorkshire, England. Occupation: Servant to Farmer Francis Leak, Farmer of 198 acres. Aged 22 years. He marries October 1853 Yrks ER(not clear where??) to Catherine Goodall.  Hoping I have used the correct Riding - would be grateful for any assistance.  Regards Sue

Yorkshirebmd show the marriage as a "York District" civil marriage, so you may have to buy the certificate.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
