Mags,
If your  mum's brother was born 1954, he could not be the person with the same name who married in 1965.

It's this man who could be your grandfather.
Your mum's 1958 birth cert & the death cert for her brother should provide their father's occupation.
It should also give an address for him especially if it was different to your grandmother's

That would make him 11 when he got married.. definitely not the same person. My Grandmother and mother both moved to England. I Dont know who he married?

I'm not sure if you can read that... I'm struggling. Looks like General labourer?

Just reminding all that there is another thread (maybe we should close one off so we can have all info on one?). www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=732890.0

Realise that Jamesina shows a 'married' to Thomas Edgar on the clip you posted Mags. The wording being Jamesina Edgar, formerly McAlpine (her maiden surname) or Watson, that she was previously married.

What happened do you know with Jamesina's first marriage. Did Mr Watson die? Divorce or just simply a separation.

Remember from your other post that there were other siblings to your mother, apart from Thomas Peter who died young...

Here is all the info that I had

James Pollock Mcalpine - My mother's Grandfather
Mary Mcalpine nee Pickett my mother's grandmother both from scotland
My mother's mother - Jamesina Watson Nee Mcalpine born 1928
She had 4 children Thomas, Margaret, John Edgar the other child was Glen who died at a very young age.
All from Scotland. My mother moved to England around 1963.. at a guess.

Monica  :)
