Dear all,I am trying to find out what happened(after 1871) to Mary Elizabeth Gundy b.1852 Grafton Herefordshire. There is a christening in Hereford St Martin in august 1852,parents Susanna(h) Parry and Joseph Gundy(both born in Dixton Newton,Monmouthshire). The last record I have for Mary Elizabeth is on the 1871W census in Monmouthshire aged 16 and living with her father Joseph(who dies in 1872).Does anyone know of a possible marriage in Wales after 1871 or any possible emigration records?kind regards Ivorglyn.

May not be any connection, but there is a newspaper report of a Mary Gundy being convicted of stealing coal from the Pwllgain COlliery, Pontyprdd in 1880. I note your Mary's older brother mved to the Pontypridd area between 1881 & 1891

Robert Parry or the Kymin and Joseph Gundy in Dixton coursing and hunting deer illegally in 1849

Perhaps this is why Mary was born in Grafton, Herefordshire ;)

Dear Whiteout7 and Mabel Bagshawe,I found both of the newspaper articles.Thankyou for your help.I still cannot find any record of a Mary(Elizabeth) Gundy on the 1881 censuses.I posted on the USA,Canada,NZ,and England boards but I didn't realise that I had to inform others of this.As you can see these url's have been listed by another member..kind regards Ivorglyn
