Any information on the following family would be appreciated.

William Kerr & Mary McCorquodale.  Both born in Scotland.  Known child is my great grandfather Matthew Kerr, b. 1883 in Scotland but moved to Canada with his wife Martha Clements (daughter of Christopher Clements & Rosina Malone)

I can’t find anything conclusive for Matthew or his parents either.  From an on-line tree, Matthew Kerr married Martha Clements 25 Nov 1904 in New York.  http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/ have her birth record, 1885 in Greenock.

As there are no records showing on Scotland’s People for a William Kerr/Mary Mcorquodale marriage, or a likely birth for Matthew Kerr in England or Scotland, this record may be worth considering.  I could of course be totally wrong!  Perhaps put it on the back burner until there is more corroborating evidence.

26 Sep 1883, Matthew Mcalone McCorkindale, illegitimate son of Mary McCorkindale, Farm Servant, was born at Parklee (Parklea) Farm by (can’t read) Parish of Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire.  The informant was Mary Mccorkindale, mother.  Registered 15 Oct 1883 at Kilmacolm
1883 MCCORKINDALE, MATTHEW MCALONE / M/ KILMACOLM/RENFREW 569/00 0060

Attaching the bit I can’t read!

Looks like York, Ontario, Canada was mistaken as New York:  https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KZBR-YVY

1921 Census states he was a stone cutter who emigrated to Canada in 1904.

Based on this, he travelled to Canada in 1904 with 2 men named Hugh and William Denny.
All were listed as Masons from Renfrewshire.
(The Denny men can be found in Greenock until 1901 and later in Ohio)

It seems that Matthew died in the US around  1950 as there is a Social Security Claim under:
Matthew McCorquodale Kerr b  26 Sep 1883 in Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire, Scotland which matches with the info provided by Br1gau

Although his mother's name matches, this time, his father is listed as Matthew Kerr  ( it says William on his marriage)
