Gosnell, Schull, Cork
« on: Tuesday 20 October 15 17:44 BST (UK) »
Hi, I'm new to Irish research, hoping for a few pointers from more experienced folk. Not really expecting to be able to find much, but here's what I've got so far:

William Gosnell (b unknown) and his wife Catherine (b abt 1811) probably married in abt 1830, and had at least 5 children between 1831 and 1842. At some point after that, William died (no record of death in England) and Catherine and the children came over to England. I know for sure that they were here by 1861, as they're in the census, which gives their birthplace as Schull.
I would like to find William and Catherine's marriage, if possible, their children's baptisms, and anything else I can on them in Ireland, especially emigration data if it exists.

What I've tried already:
familysearch - nothing but a tax assessment for a Widow Gosnell in Gurteenakilla, maybe related to William, maybe not
ancestry - Irish extraction records have a marriage that fits, but location is given as 'diocese of Cork and Ross' which is not terribly helpful
irishgenealogy.ie's church records database for East and West Schull - nothing that fits

What else can I try or look at? (NB: not interested in info on them in England as I already have it)
Thanks!

Thanks folks! Will give those a try.
Hallmark - I don't know if they were RC - all their BMDs in England were C of E, but they were living in a rural area with not a lot of choice.

Also

Just so you know . . .

There won't be 'emmigration' records.

We were still part of Britain at the time so the family just moved from one part to the other.
