There are Richley records on the freereg site - www.freereg.org.uk - none seem to exactly match the dates you have but might be worth a look.

Is this the family in 1851, so we know who we are looking for    :-\

H0107/2389 f236 p26
Robert Richley   37 bn Hexham
Elizth 45 bn Simonburn
Eliza   12
Robt 10
William 8
children all born Corbridge

1841 also has a son John bn c1835

In case it is relevant in 1841 there is a Jonathan Richley age 25 with Dorothy 25 and 3 children who appear to be living next door but one.

A previous post includes a suggestion that Robert may have also been known as Bewick

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=264838.9

"Elizabeth Beldon married Robert Bewick, both of the P of Corbridge.. 13 Nov 1833"

Baptisms at Corbridge to parents Robert (a shoemaker) & Elizabeth:
18 Sep 1834 - John Bewick
8 July 1838 - Eliza Bewick

A good match for the 1841 Richley's - apart from the surname of course!

I cant find birth registrations for the children as Richley, but there are ones for Bewick that match.

Robert Bewick 1840 Hexham
William Bewick 1843 Hexham

Interesting to note that Jonathan Richley married Dorothy Beldon 1836 St John Lee
Robert Bewick married Elizabeth Beldon

Paul, Seems we're probably quite closely related. From the tree I've built I'm guessing your the son of Robert Thompson Richley? I'm the great grandson of his brother Richard Charles Richley. Perhaps we've info that's of use to each other.

Something I'd like to know is what the F in Elizabeth F Beldon is and how you know there's an F?

I can offer that Robert Richley c.1812 who married Elizabeth is actually Robert Bewick Richley son of Ann Bewick (who I believe was born c.1793 in Simonburn, though I'm still cross checking that fact) and the illigitimate child of an as yet Unknown Richley.

I've a list of likely suspects. Alfred, Edward, John, Jonathon, William and George. All Richley brothers, all living in the same roads as Robert and Ann in the 1841 census and with multiple cases of Tompsons and Beldons, names you'll recognise, intermarrying and sharing housing.

Richard

I must have seen Elizabeth F Beldon somewhere - will let you know when I can confirm the source.

This looks like the same line of Richleys. I have recently been working on this on Family Search - do you use this? My tree is called Richlet Clewett Family Tree. I had heard about the Bewick connection and am keen to go as far back as possible.

Richard Charles Richley, 1885 to 1933, is my grandfather. He had my father, Robert Edward Richley, 1923-1979 and Lilian Florence Richley, 1920 - deceased. Their mother was Jane Frances Miles. Richard Charles Richley had previously been married to Jane's sister, Amy, who had Richard C Richley, b 1914. He was my Uncle Dick, married to Nell. They had two daughters, Irene and Susan, in S London.

I'd appreciate your comments on the above and especially where you fit in. I thought I was the end of the Richley line as I have 2 daughters.
