Where could I start?

My wife has no photos of herself prior to the age of 19 and I would dearly like to find her an earlier copy.

In 1948 she was at a wedding and would, possibly, appear in the wedding photo - aged 10.

The wedding was a cousin's she and her family subsequently left the UK for the USA where they took up residence.

When they left the UK they had 2 daughters the youngest of whom was born in 1954 therefor the earliest date that they could have left was 1954.

I would appreciate any suggestions as to which direction my inquiries should take.

If they left the U.K. before 1960 there might be a way of locating the family but you can't post details of living people online. Hopefully the names won't be too common. Send me a PM with their details if you'd like me to look at some U.S. resources.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
