Hi, for info only but may be something. Firstly, Jorose it should read James Paton Parker b1892 b Uxbridge. He appears to have died 1974 in Swansea. DOB given as 12.10.1892.

Whilst it has been dismissed the death of a Henry Parker aged 77 in 1907 = c1830 does seem to tie in with the BAPTISM on the 21.12.1831 of a Henry PATON Parker, in Oldbury Worcs, parents George/Louisa Elizabeth Parker. I do not have access to A* OR FindMyPast but he may appear on earlier census as a journalist?

BUT her dob 1841 I think the initial should be Louisa S (D) C Alley
perhaps the Louisa baptized 1831 may have died and they named another dau by the same name

hi
This looks like Henry and his brother (Joseph) Halford Parker in 1841.
Charlemont Hall West Browmwich
Joseph Halford 60 farmer y
Lydia 60 y
Anne 20 y
Alice 15 y
William 20 y
Henry Parker 11 y
Halford 9 y
and then a range of servants.

George Parker married Louisa Elizabeth Halford at West Bromwich All Saints 28.5.1823 so they're living with Grandad and Grandma.
Louisa  was baptised there 18.3.1801

Good find ciderdrinker. Can anyone with more resources than me take this info further.

1. There's a marriage of a Henry HALFORD Parker sept q 1895 St George Hanover Sq 1a 1045. Who is his father, his age if shown  and what occupation does he give. There does not appear to be a birth/ death of this man that I can find. He may possibly be the son of Joseph Halford Parker, Henry's brother. Joseph married 1857 Kings Norton.

2. 1891 census ref rg12 763 80 13. It's for a Henry P Perfect Banauch -a journalist. Cannot find anything else about him either -no births , marriages or deaths or census--is it our Henry continuing his mystery life?

3. The James Paton Parker mentioned by jorose needs some strong research as well ie a birth certificate.

To the many who have replied.
Thank you all for your interest and suggestions.
At this stage I feel nothing new has come so far. At the moment I'm trying to identify any living descendants of Henry and Molly hoping for some family memory or documents.
Plan to keep this route open for a while just in case.
Sincere thanks
NormanE

The photo shows Church Hill House which was the home of the Parkers  and then William and Alice Muntz

Alice Parker was the widow of William Henry Muntz born 28th June 1824, (son of G.F.Muntz,  the famous political reformer and Birmingham M.P.) and died in 1871 from a fall over a cliff in Guernsey, at that time he was living at Glenmore St. Martyns and according to an entry on my Muntz Pedigree, his wife "lost her reason after her husband's corpse was brought into the house by some fishermen without warning, recovered in part after six years and died in 1897 at Tooting Bec, buried at Handsworth".

1881c Guernsey shows George Frederick & Catherine Alice to be nephew & niece of
Alice Muntz widow born 1831 her sister Helen Parker born 1829 is visiting

Hello All,

My father was John Edwin Patten Parker, Henry Patten Parker's son. I am similarly confused about Henry's parents. I'm not totally convinced that when Mollie moved in with the Noakes family (1911 census) she was a widow. She was also registered as being without a partner as early as 1901 but then had another child in 1903 (Guy).  There was always some sort of hint in the family that these children had different fathers but I've never sorted that one out to my satisfaction.  I have also heard that Henry senior was a journalist so if you believe what they say about journalists being a bit 'fly-by-night'......!

I can remember Violet very dimly from my childhood - red hair. There was also a bit of a 'moment' when Cyril died. My dad inherited some money from him and was told by some members of Cyril's family that he should give it back because he hadn't been in contact with him!  He didn't and was cross about this.

I also assume that 'Mollie' was Mary Peters from Halliford but there is no conclusive evidence of that so a lot of this is still one big mystery but it's nice to know there are other people out there digging around.

Keep in touch!

regards

Howard
