William GERRED, Born c1842/43

Hello,

William GERRED was sentenced to 3 years Penal Servitude on 02/07/1858 at Bath Quarter Sessions and spent almost the entire time at Parkhurst Prison.   He does not seem to have re-offended after 02/07/1861 when he was released.

I can find no BDM information for him.

Can anyone help please?

Have you got him on any census to give any clue to birthplace?

There's a birth registered Jun 1841 Bath correct name, that could be him.

Yes, that is almost certainly him in 1841 on the FreeBMD Birth Index, but there are no other details on FreeReg, FamilySearch, TNA Census returns or 19th Century British Library Newspapers

Hi William is possibly the William Gerrard aged 9 b Bath with a widowed father John aged 44 occ Mason b Bath residing at 82, Avon Street, Bath in 1851?

EDIT in 1841 William is aged 3 months shown as Garrard with John/Mary same address as 1851

In 1851 their is a brother John aged 20, in 1841 John Gerrard aged 11 is a Prisoner in Bath City Gaol

The GERRARD suggestions do bear some consideration.   But.........there are a couple of William GERRED's both from Bath who could be the parental connection I am looking for.   One appears on the 1861 Census and another died 1855.   

I need to chase these a little further, if I can, to test any connection.
