Any idea what this badge may mean?
« on: Sunday 25 October 15 20:20 GMT (UK) »
Not sure if this is the actual place to post this, but it didn't seem to fit anywhere else!
I wonder if anyone can recognise what this 'badge' on my great grandfathers watch chain may be? He lived in Hull (1866-1952)
Thank You

Was he a Freemason? It looks like something they would have. Just an idea. Viktoria.

It's called a fob I believe and some of them were simply decorative, so it may not have any meaning. It's a lovely item, worn by  a handsome great grandfather.

Have a look at Watch Fobs here:

My father had something like this in his effects. It was given to him for being a young footballer and winning a local league final. This would have been in 1915 or so when he was about 10 years old. Just a thought.

I am unaware of any links to the freemasons or to football. I presume it is just a decorative fob; pity you cannot see any detail on it.
Thank you to all who took time to look. It was a bit of a wild shot, I know, but after getting such good responses from members here regarding photos of my paternal and maternal grandfathers (in navy and army uniforms, respectively), I thought it was worth a chance.
Thank you again & Regards
Gill
