I don't know whether you have this,but if you Google North Devon Journal 1945 Dr Alexander Traill, it will take you to a few sites with journal entries. Looks like GenesReunited is the best one but I don't subscribe there so can't check.

Thank you Nettie. I am looking at the website you mention but not finding anything as yet. I will keep looking though as his service must be recorded somewhere. He just seems to have disappeared for the duration of the war but as a surgeon and member of the volunteer Black Watch Volunteers surely he must have been put to good use.  Thank you again 😄😄

Thanks for second post. His second wife was Barbara Godby and he had two children Trevor and Jean. Trevor died aged 2. Thanks again 😄😄
