Hi Dewi,

don't think there were any as Pennant family actively discouraged such establishments. But I may be wrong.

Pigots National Commercial Directory 1828-9 Part 2 lists for Bangor

7 Inns(some of which are Post Houses)

17 Taverns/Public Houses

Is there any one in particular you are looking for?

Regards
Roger

Thank you. All I can tell you is that the family lived at Bryn Dymchwel, in Llandegai. The inn or Tavern I do not know the name of, but I know the proprietors lived in Bryn Dymchwel, in Llandegai.

I assume from your other post that it is John William Parry you are looking for. There is a John Parry listed in Pigots 1835 Directory at The Castle and Falcon in Castle Street,Bangor. It might be worth seeing if there is an 1844 listing which might give a further clue as to whether he might be "your" John Parry
