nothing in the registers??
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Catherine is a daughter and is not married.
Here are her parents in 1911 http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Mayo/Toomore/Foxford/735716/

Looking through the baptism records, I have seen a child Mary to the same parents and there will hopefully be more. The writing is a bit scrawly and as yet I can't place the residence.
I am still looking!

Ann is Nancy? I'd not have thought of that

Yes Nancy is a nickname for Ann.

Thanks for the info. would not have linked the two.

Charles and Phoebe had both a Bernard and an Annie (plus 9 more children). So they tie in with names in Charles' past.

Just noticed that there is a Currinara near Foxford on a modern map  :-\

Hallmark gave you a link to the parish registers where I found Charles. You can look through those and gather names and then follow up if possible.

I do hope he is yours. Where does Foxford come from in your family history? Is it a reliable source?

Thanks for the Currinara spot. I've just been walking around Toomore - great invention Google maps.

I've been looking through the registers (thanks for that) and nothing's jumped out at me yet. Very scrawly writing makes it hard.

Grandmother (Charles' daughter) and her sisters always said Foxford. As far as I can gather he was a bit of a shady character.

The available info has improved a lot since I started trying to find out his past.
Thanks for putting in my mind that there can be names like Nancy for Ann ...

There is a death in 1919, Swineford registration district for Bryan Dunleavys, 79 yrs.

Family Search has this in wills index which links Curnara

Click on 'view'.

Marriage https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FGZ6-VWY

Just bear in mind that as yet there is not much evidence to prove these links.

I just came across the very same death and thought it looked likely, with Swineford being down the road from Foxford. Hadn't seen the probate though, thanks for that :)

Yeah, I know, I've not had much evidence in 7 years!  :) I dug the file of certificates out tonight and thought I'd give it another go.
