The Family of William Copeland Black
« on: Sunday 01 November 15 16:13 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for any information on the following members of William Copeland Black's family who lived in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Below is all the  information I have on the family.

William Copeland Black was born 1882 Keswick, Cumberland, England in 1882 he emigrated to Canada sometime in the early 1900's.  on 5th June 1911 he married Catherine O'Lone in Montreal she was born in 1885 in Omagh, Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland and emigrated to Canada in 1905.
William died on 2nd October 1969 and Catherine died in April 1935 and they were both buried at Notre-Dame-Des-Neiges Cemetery, Montreal, Quebec.

They had seven children I have found all the baptism records for them.

Frederick William Black born 1912 I have not found any more information for him.  I know that he had died before 1977 as I have found that information in obituary for his brother Harold.

Catherine Mildred Black born 30th July 1914 she died 1989 and was buried with her parents.
I know that she never married.

Harold James Black born 1915 he married Theresa Keyes on 28th November 1942 and died 23rd November 1977.

Edgar Beatty Black born 1919 he died in 17th December 1944 in WWII,
.

Douglas Black born 1920 I know that he was still alive in 2008 as he is the only surviving person in the family according to the obituary of his brother Gerald Francis Black.  I have found a Canadian Voters list in 1968 for him living with Catherine and Fred (who was mentioned as retired) and after Douglas's name has widowed.

John Allan Black born 1923 I have no other information for him.

Gerald Francis Black born 1926 he died on 19th September 2008 I have an obituary for him. He was also buried with his mother and father and sister.

The people in the family I am looking for information are:

Frederick William Black
Harold James Black
Douglas Black
John Allan Black

I know four of them could have married and had children as in on obituary I found there were nieces and nephews.

From information I have found it looks like Catherine Mildred, Edgar Beatty and Gerald Francis Black never married.

In one obituary Douglas was down as Douglas (Lucette) Black in his brothers obituary. In one Canada Voters list Douglas was down as widowed.

Your very fortunate with the help you have received from al the message board posts.

You probably already know Canada has quite strict privacy laws.  As a guide BMD Records are only available for births more than a 100 years ago, marriages 80 years ago and deaths 70 years ago.

Nieces and nephews are living people - it is against the rules of the site for us to name them - Have you tried http://www.canada411.ca/

Have you tried contacting the nearest public library ? - You already have the obit for Harold James Black.  Married Montreal on November 28 1942

Lucetta would be the wife of Douglas
