John and Janet had two Georges, the first died as a child and that must be George Nelson Ritchie born c. 1876
The second George did indeed leave home. I think he went to New Zealand

Why do you think there are two Georges born to John and Janet?

Hi Monica, according to my Dad there were two Georges and the first one died as a baby. Can this be confirmed?

Thanks John,
That's me back as far as William.
What I'll do now is get these names onto a template to get a visual idea before moving further back, then have a closer look at the siblings.

One question if I may before I use my credits on Scotland's People. Do I use each census for household families, occupations and addresses and the births, deaths and marriages for the rest?

Thanks,
Jinty

Yes Jinty,

B/M/D & Census have separate catagories. There are different catagories too depending on dates. Pre 1855 will be OPR births & after 1855 will be Statutory births but there is also the Catholic register.

Look closely at the info. already given, dates especially to save yourself £'s on BMD's.

All born same area so may be possible to use surname only for the indexes with earliest & latest years for birth in that area as you will get 25 names on the index for 1 credit = £0.23p then 5 credits for each you download.
