Historicgraves.com & Shanaran Cemetery
« on: Tuesday 03 November 15 18:06 GMT (UK) »
Last evening I went through the list of people buried in the Shanaran Cemetery.  I found it is listed as part of the Historicgraves.com project.  I believe that there is a man who has knowledge of the Daly/O'Gorman family that I have posted queries on here and Co Cork.   Does anyone know how you can contact a person via Historicgraves.com?  On Findagrave.com you can register and then contact people.  On Historicgraves.com I could only find a way to register if you wanted to become a transcriber for them.

Hi,
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GScid=2293146
this is the site for the Shanaran Cemetery.
the contact person is named on the site.
I am waiting for Kilkeary lists and have been for about 6 years.
I may just go and do it myself!

Maggsie,  the Findagrave.com site for Shanaran Cemetery only shows 3 burials there.  The Historicgraves.com site has at least 13 pgs of persons buried in Shanaran Cemetery.

Maggsie,  what cemeteries or surnames are you seeking to find in Kilkeary?   Dumb me,  I thought that was the name of a cemetery but after researching I have found that it is apparently a district in Co Tipperary.

Kilkeary graveyard.
well I have been there several times it's only a small place near Toomevara or Toomyvara however you like to spell it.
The Church is there as well, though a ruin, dedicated to Saint Kiera or Ciara however you want to spell it. The person I have contacted lives in Toomevarra, I read about the project in the Nenagh Guardian some years ago. A guy from Dublin was helping but sadly he has passed on now.
I have several burial records of Kennedy or nee Kennedy,  they originated in the Kilmore area, some moving to the Borrisokane area.
My O'Meara's came from Toomevara, hence the name "Tombs of the O'Meara's" and married Kennedy's and other names too many to mention.
So I am waiting for my list from the project leader.
