***Side note - sent an email to the Hardwick Parish council and received a reply; they are forwarding it to someone who specializes in this sort of info.

I know, but thank you for brain storming.

Maybe it was the name of their two favourite kitty cats!

I found a letter from my grandmother and her home address is on it in Hardwick.

I've scanned it but the file is too large to post on here & I don't know how to make it smaller.

The writing looks like st Neots Rd.

Hi 4LauraM,

If you search the 1939 Register for St Neots Road, type in Chesterton R.D. for the borough/district, there is indeed a property called "Pakistan".  From the free search I can see the residents in 1939 were Richard H Risebro and Ada L Risebro and one other person closed.

Robbins - Wolverhampton.
Spooner - Monmouthshire & Wolverhampton.
Warner & Loundes - Dudley/West Bromwich.
Dod(g)son - Heysham/Liverpool/Wolverhampton

Wonderful!

What I know for sure is the letter is post marked 30 Dec 1949 and my grand mother passed on 1 July 1950.

In the letter she talks about her face being swollen and going for more treatments in January.

This tiny little air mail letter is my only connection  and conversation from her.

How lovely for you to have this letter written by your grandmother, a little treasure for you to keep.

Pakistan was a smallholding on the St Neots Road - a bungalow with about 2 acres of land and buildings for livestock.
