john murphy castle gardens kilkenny ireland
« on: Thursday 05 November 15 12:04 GMT (UK) »

Hello I'm  posting this message because i am hoping that someone may have information on a John Murphy from Castle Gardens Kilkenny Ireland.
I have only just discovered  him through his brother James Murphy  probate and will ,dated 1908. It read that John was from Kilkenny

It seems to me that John Murphy remained  in Ireland while his family immigrated to Melbourne  Australia possibly in
1850. Don't  know whether he had family or when he died.

The family consisted of Patrick Murphy, his wife  Margaret Murphy nee O'Keefe  born 1803 castle gardens Kilkenny Ireland died Melbourne  1887. Children James ,Mary, Bridget, Annie ,Ellen and of cause John who remained in Ireland
IT seems that i am the only person researching this family.
Thanks Claire

Just see if I'm reading this correctly.
James Murphy died in Australia naming a brother John in Ireland in his will.

An approx date of the birth for James and his siblings would help.
Were they all born in Ireland?

Hi conahy calling

Just a comment on the John Murphy on the 1901 & 1911 census
He seems too young to be a brother
The census returns => he was born c 1867 rather than c1830s/1840s to be a sibling
Kearney & Bourke/ Johns & Fox/ Mannion & Finan/ Donohoe & Curley
