Titchfield baptism

Hi all

Could sks please have a look at Titchfield baptisms for ELIZABETH FRIAR BURTON born June qtr 1849 to James and Mary Burton. James was a commissioned boatman (Coastguard,) living at 18 Hillhead, Titchfield by 1851. He had been at the Lancing Station up to 1848 certainly, and Elizabeth Friar was probably born there, but there is no baptism for her at either Lancing or East Preston CofE churches. The family might have been 'chapel', but I shall have to work on a process of elimination. Any help greatly appreciated.

James was promoted in March 1850 and removed from Lancing to Portsmouth and he shows up on the establishment book of Hill Head, Gosport after a brief stint of about 10 days (!) at Portsmouth Harbour.

He was discharged dead 10 January 1852 

If Elizabeth was baptised soon after birth then I would expect it to be in Sussex.

It's useful to have James's date of death. As far as Elizabeth is concerned I shall have to cover more parishes in Sussex to find her baptism. Sussex list, here I come!
