The census
never gives a date of birth. It tells you
the age people said they were on the date of the census, and in 1841 this was supposed to be rounded down to the nearest 5 years. So if you ever come across a census that purports to give dates of birth, you can be 100% certain that it's a transcription, not an original, and that you need to check the original for accuracy.
According to FreeCEN the George Gordon and Rachel Gordon in the 1841 census in Newhills are both said to be aged 50, which means born between 1786 and 1791. George Gordon and Ratchel Gordon in Hardmuick, Old Meldrum, are both said to be 55, which means born between 1781 and 1786. FreeCen doesn't list either pair as being in the household of anyone else - in both cases George Gordon is the first name in the household. The ones at Hardmuick, Old Meldrum (not Woodmick) have Barbra Gordon, 25, and Ann Gordon, 15, and Sarah Murison, 7, in the same household, and William, Margret and Margret Hay in a separate household at Hardmuick. The ones at Sheddocksley, Newhills have a Jane Gordon, also 50, and some servants.
As whichever census transcription
rosie17 is using and the FreeCEN transcription do not agree with one another, you
cannot rely on either - you really have to look at the originals on
www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk and make up your own mind what the original actually says.
