« on: Saturday 07 November 15 21:13 GMT (UK) »
Hi!  Trying to find out more about a great aunt Mary Ann Duce who was born in 1882 Long Melford,  Suffolk,  England.  We know from family knowledge that she may of married a doctor and we also know she emigrated to the U. S. A a strong possibility being New York.  We do not know her married name.  But.  may well show up on a maiden name search in the U. S..  Any help would be great.  We have a picture of her..  We do not know if she had children..  She was one of 15 siblings...  Thank You..

Thank You Sandra.  I've been trying to find out more about her for years.  Sometimes when you throw it out there.  Someone spots it.  And in this case I think you may well of done.  Her Mother was a Bob his before she married.  So.  is looking likely.  Her Mother died in 1972 and the local paper listed her.  So.  she may of came back for the funeral.  Her niece  (my nan) is still living.  But.  does not know much about her life on leaving Long Melford.  Would love to find hlwho she married and a possible child(ren)...  I have details on all 14 siblings.  Just have nothing from her later life in America...  No Marriage,  Death etc...

Can you just clarify  ???

Quote -  Her Mother died in 1972 and the local paper listed her.

Looking at UK census Mary was born 1882 and her mother Emily in 1855 (provided I have the correct family  ???) - if Emily died in 1972 she would have been 117 years old.  ???

I see an entry in FreeBMD for Mary Ann Duce (mistranscribed as Duck) registered Jan/Feb/Mar 1882 in Sudbury, Suffolk.  Is that her?
