re arrival on Baboo or Rajasthan, there is a reference on the SAPioneers website

that the John Wood on the Rajasthan "(d aft arr)". A further entry that a John Wood d 8th July 1840 aged 42 at the Emigration Depot. Buried at West Terrace Cemetery.

That probably puts your man on the Baboo.

AND Catherine was noted as the youngest dau yet it would appear ie if it is the correct John WOOD, that John and Elizabeth arrived with a daughter.  Pity she wasn't named as we could check the birth in England.

Have you looked at this baptism to see if there is any further information on exactly where he was born?  It is sometimes noted if a child was born at sea.

I would assume that baptism was possibly at Holy Trinity on North Terrace and I think the microfilms are at SLSA and contain scant information.  The same info is on a CD.

Age is a little out.  It would appear the informant had little information but identified with father WOOD which is unusual on NSW indexes as usually only the given names are on the database.
