Claire

Thanks for posting the MC.  There seems to be a lot of witnesses!

Intersting that Mary was 'of parish' although she was baptised at Warsop.  It appears that her father who I think is Samuel lived and died at Worksop in 1827.

Regards,

bitzar.

EDIT: just realised its only 4 witnesses, not 6.

hi,

When a marriage says of parish it means they were living there at the time and not where they were born or baptised.
Branfoot of Leeds; Nall of Nottingham; Wallis of Stapleford Nottinghamshire; Challand of  East Bridgford Notinghamshire: Hall of Fransfield Nottinghamshire;
Morral of Stanton By Dale, Derbyshire;

Hi bitzar,

Samuel looks a good bet to me too as Mary's father  :)

I think Mary's parents also married by licence.

To narrow potential parents down their ages were given on the licence

Father: was of Worksop and aged 25
Mother: was of Mansfield and aged 19.
