Hi LM,

The info is from the Deaths at Sea Index. The details of next of kin are on the original image attached to the record.

By the way , I checked Wharf Road and it is in Fobbing.

I live in the next village to Fobbing and I attend St Michael's church.

It appears he lost his life when HMS Racoon ran aground in a blizzard with the loss of all hands - 9 January 1918.

Re reply 12

Moderator comment. 1911 census info removed in accordance with Rootschat Policy

I did not get the 1911 information from any census.

With all of the help I have had from fellow Rootschatters I am now going to consider this subject closed, I have collated all information, have been to St Michael's to confirm some details from the ledgers, and have now to sort it out into some sort of order

Huge thank you to all concerned, I didn't realise there was so much information about HMS Racoon

Best Regards

Louisa Maud
