Census Job Occupation
« on: Wednesday 18 November 15 15:30 GMT (UK) »
Hello :)

I have a James Miller listed here in 1911 as a Housekeeper and his wife Emma listed as Assisting Housekeeper but what does it say after Housekeeper? And was it common for men to be a Housekeeper? I've done a lot of my tree but not come across a male housekeeper yet?
FYI he was living at Fredericks Place in Old Jewry, London. His previous job was a Stage Doorkeeper?.

Thanks in advance. x

In the column marked 'Industry or service with which worker is connected' it says Chd (i.e.Chartered) Accountants.

The code number written beside the word Housekeeper denotes the occupational classification
'Caretakers, Office Keepers (not Government)'.
