Kaess Connection to Royalty
« Reply #9 on: Sunday 28 May 17 14:00 BST (UK) »
The Line of Descent in the Swabian line of Nobility (Counts) from Konrad I to Ludwig I Count of Wuerttemberg is as follows:

Konrad I, Herr von Württemberg (1053-1135)
Konrad Württemberg II (1077-1144)
Ludwig I, Graf von Württemberg (1106-1158)
Ludwig II Count of Wurttemberg  (1131-1181)
Hartmann I Count Of Wuerttemberg  (1165-1240)
Heinrich of Pfannberg I (1222-1265)
Graf Eberhard I VON WÜRTTEMBERG (1265-1325)
Ulrich III Count of WUERTTEMBERG (1298-1344)
Eberhard III Count of Wurtemburg (1315-1392)
Ulrich (1342-1388)
Eberhard III (1364-1417)
Graf Eberhard IV von Württemberg der Jüngere (1388-1419)
Count Ludwig I Von Wuerttemberg (1412-1450)

Konrad I was the founder of the house of Württemberg. He is a ‘mighty man among the Swabians.’ He was the first ruler of the castle of Württemberg. His name appeared on Genealogical papers Paul Ernst Kaess handed to family in 1990.

This Swabian Line of Descent confirms what Paul Ernst Kaess (1921-2002) said in 1990 when he stated he was descended from Swabian Nobility.

Kaess Family Ancestors
« Reply #10 on: Tuesday 30 May 17 03:30 BST (UK) »
Johanna Barbara Entenmann (1760-1824) was married to Andreas Kaes (1755-1824) in Benningen am Neckar, Germany. Her parents were Johann Friedrich Entenmann (1724-1802) and Anna Maria Eberle (1730-1810). The Entenmann's were intermarried with the Kaess' in Benningen. They were also descendants of the Haller von Hallerstein family, a noble family from Nuremburg.
Looking for any background on either family in Benningen.

Foto 1 is a 'Familienregister' showing Andreas Kaes (1755-1824) and his wife Johanna Barbara Entenmann (1760-1824). Note Johann Jacob Kaes, Andreas Kaes' Father, is mentioned at the bottom left of Foto 1. In Foto 2, we have the children of Andreas Kaes, including Johannes Kaes, mentioned. This is a continuation of Foto 1, the same Familienregister.

Below are Foto 5 & 6 which show a Familienregister for Johanna Karoline Kaes (1850-1932) and Andreas Kaes (1824-1896). It also mentions (in Foto 6) Friedrich Emil Kaes (1889-1968) as a Son of Andreas Kaes & Johanna. In this document, Johannes Kaes is mentioned as the Father of Andreas Kaes. This family lived in Benningen am Neckar, Germany. Friedrich Emil Kaes was the Father of Paul Ernst Kaess (1921-2002) and Grandfather of Gerd Edwin Paul Kaess (1947-1972), who immigrated to Chicago in 1965.
Gerd has descendants in Indiana and Mexico.

Kaess Connection to Charlemagne and Polish Nobility
« Reply #14 on: Thursday 29 June 17 19:11 BST (UK) »
The following is a line of descent from Charlemagne to Ludwig I Count of Württemberg-Urach (1412-1450).  This list and dates came from familypedia.wikia.com

Charlemagne (747-814)
Louis the Pious (778-840)
Charles the Bald (823-877)
Louis the Stammerer (846-879)
Charles the Simple (879-929)
Louis IV, King of Western Francia (c920-954)
Mathilde (943-?)
Gerberga de Bourgogne (965-1019)
Hermann II von Werl (c980-1025)
Mathilde von Werl (?-?)
Adalbert II, Count of Ballenstedt (c1030-c1080)
Otto, Count of Ballenstedt (c1071-1123)
Albrecht von Brandenburg (c1100-1170)
Bernhard III, von Sachsen, Count of Askania (1140-1212)
Heinrich I, Count of Anhalt (c1170-1252)
Hedwig von Anhalt (c1228-1259)
Agnes von Liegnitz (c1243-1265)
Eberhard I von Württemberg (1265-1325)
Ulrich III, Count of Württemberg (1298-1344)
Eberhard II von Württemberg (1315-1392)
Ulrich von Württemberg (1342-1388)
Eberhard III, Count of Württemberg (1364-1417)
Eberhard IV, Count of Württemberg (1388-1419)
Ludwig I, Count of Württemberg-Urach (1412-1450)

It should also be noted that Agnes von Liegnitz’ (c1243-1265) Father was Boleslaw II the Bald of Poland (c1223-1278). He was a member of the Silesian Piasts and was High Duke of Poland briefly (in 1241) and Duke of Silesia at Wroclaw (from 1241 to 1248). He also ruled the Silesian Duchy of Legnica. The 2nd Mongol raid occurred during his reign.
Boleslaw II the Bald's parents were Henry II the Pious of Poland (c1196-1241) and Anne of Bohemia. He is also a 'gateway' ancestor to Casimir the Restorer (1016-1058). Casimir is also a descendant of Charlemagne.
Since Paul Ernst Kaess (19212-2002) is a descendant of Georg Kaes (1669-1755), and Georg Kaes is a descendant of Ludwig I Count of Wurttemburg (1412-1450), and Ludwig I is a descendant of Charlemagne and Casimir the Restorer, then it follows that Paul Ernst Kaess (1921-2002) and his descendants are also descendants of Charlemagne and Casimir the Restorer.
