K.4. Friedrich Emil Kaes (Käss or Käs), aka ‘Emil Friedrich Kaess,’ b. Oct 15 1889 in Benningen,
Württemberg, Germany, d. Jan 3 1968 in Benningen am Neckar, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, m. Anna Berta Falkenecker or Falkenauer (b. May 11 1890 in Heutingsheim, Württemberg, Germany, d. May 15 1970 in Benningen am Neckar, Baden-Württemberg, Germany) on Mar 29 1913 in a civil ceremony. A church wedding was performed on Mar 30 1913, prob. in Benningen. They celebrated their 50th ‘Golden’ wedding anniversary on Mar 31 1963 in Benningen. His parents are Andreas Kaess (1824-1896) and Johanna Caroline Lang (1850-1932), both from Benningen. Friedrich Emil Kaess worked as a shipbuilder on the Orinoco River in South America and eventually returned to Germany where he lived out the rest of his days in Benningen. In a 'familienregister', he is mentioned as having visited Buenos Aires  in 1923. Trained Carpenter. Mentioned as ‘Master Carpenter.’ Anna Bertha worked as a maid in Ludwigsburg. Friedrich Emil Kaes and Anna Berta Falkenecker had 4 children together: Emil, Berta Freida, Paul, & Lina Elsa. A family photo from the 1960's shows Friedrich Emil Kaess and Anna Berta Kaess in a group photo with Kaess family members, including Gerd Edwin Kaess. Ursula Kaess says her Grandfather was named Emil Friedrich Kaess. His name as Friedrich Emil Kaess was confirmed by Claudia Blumhardt, a Lutheran Parish secretary in Heutingsheim. Emil Friedrich Kaess may have been a rufname or ‘preferred name’ for Emil Friedrich Kaess. Anna Berta Falkenecker was known as ‘Berta ‘ to her family. They may have also been grape-growers.

Any extra info on Friedrich and Anna Berta would be appreciated.

Kaess Family Ancestors

Date for Johannes Kaes is (1794-1862/1869). There is a 'familienregister' placing his death date as Jan 1 1869. Another unrecorded source has his death date as 1862. The former is more believable.

Date for Andreas Kaes is (c1755/1757-1824). There is a birth record for Andreas Kaes mentioning his birth date as Jul 17 1757 in Benningen, Germany. His parents Johann Jakob Kaes and Anna Elizabetha Buerklin are mentioned as well in this record. The c1755 date comes from an unrecorded source. There is an Ancestral File record/IGI record  at familysearch with a Jul 14 1757 birth date. The first birth record date of Jul 17 1757 appears to be the most reliable date.

Foto 7 below is the same document as Foto 1 above. Foto 7  shows the birthdate of Andreas Kaes as Jul 17 1757. His wife is Johanna Barbara Entenmann (1760-1824). Andreas Kaes vital years should be amended from (1755-1824) to (1757-1824).

Andreas Kaes (1824-1896) had two 'bastard' children with Magdalena Böhler named Caroline Kaes and Wilhelm Kaes. It was first thought that Ann Didkar was the mother, but this appears to be untrue.
Supporting documents are attached below. In one marriage record for Caroline Kaes, Ann Didikar is listed as the mother, but this is misleading. However, in a marriage record from Stuttgart, where Caroline Kaes lives, Magdalena Bohler is listed as the Mother. One source states that both children's mother is Madalena Boehler.
Magdalena Boehler met Andreas Kaes  in Stuttgart. Magadlena Boehler is the parent of both Caroline Kaes and Wilhelm Kaes. They (Andreas Kaes and Magdalena Boehler) had these two children out of wedlock.

The husband of Caroline Kaes is Karl Friederich Utz  b. 9/11/1845 in Abstatt, Heilbronn, Baden Württemberg.
They married Jul 25 1875 in Stuttgart
then he had a child : Karl Willhelm Utz,  b. Apr 20 1876 in Stuttgart.
It is possible they left for America.

Caroline Kaes (b. Sep 5 1851) was born in Haagen, Lörrach and
Willhelm Kaes (b. Nov 15 1852) in Harpoldingen, Säckingen
These two children were bastards, but still blood relatives to the Kaess in Benningen and elsewhere.
It is strange he never married Magdalena.

In  1859 Andreas Kaes went back to Benningen and married Anna Didiker, may be he brougt Anna with him ... she was from Swizterland. He may have met her in Stuttgart.

Kaess Family Ancestors
The parents of Friedrich Emil Kaes (1889-1968) are Andreas Kaes (1824-1896) and Johanna Caroline Lang (b. 1850). Andreas Kaes was born Nov 13 1824 and died Mar 14 1896, both in Benningen, Wuerttemberg, Germany. Andreas Kaes had two children out of wedlock with Magdalena Böhler: Caroline Kaes (b. Sep  5 1851) and Wilhelm Kaes (b. Nov 15 1852). Andreas was married twice. His first wife Anna Dietiker (1823-1879) died in 1879 – the same year he married Joahnna Caroline Lang (his 2nd wife). Ann reputedly came from Switzerland. No known children with Ann. With Joahnna Caroline Lang, Andreas Kaes  had five children, his last child being Friedrich Emil Kaes (1889-1968). There is a 'familien register' placing Andreas Kaes with his spouse Johanna Caroline (Lang) Kaes, along with their five children and parents. It also mentions that Friedrich Emil Kaes traveled to Buenos Aires in 1923.
The parents of Andreas Kaes are Johannes Kaes (1794-1862/1869) and Regina Barbara Staengle (1789-1829). Johannes Kaes was born Aug 8 1794 and died Dec 12 1862 or Jan 1 1869. Regina Barbara Staengle was born Apr 4 1789 and died Aug 3 1829. These dates hould be checked.
The parents of Johannes Kaes are Andreas Kaes (1757-1824) and  Johanna Barbara Entenmann (1760-1824). They married on Aug 7 1782 in Benningen. Andreas Kaes was born Jul  17 1757 and died on Feb 9 1824, both in Benningen. Johanna Barbara Entenmann was born Jun 23 1760 (in Benningen) and died Oct 30 1824. The Kaess’ and Entenmann’s are both ‘old’ families in Benningen and there is evidence of intermarriage between them.
Johanna Barbara Entenmann (1760-1824) was married to Andreas Kaes (1757-1824) in Benningen am Neckar, Germany. Her parents were Johann Friedrich Entenmann (1724-1802) and Anna Maria Eberle (1730-1810). The Entenmann's were intermarried with the Kaess' in Benningen. They were also descendants of the Haller von Hallerstein family, a noble family from Nuremburg.
The parents of Andreas Kaes (1757-1824) were Johann Jacob Kaes (1730-1794) and Anna  Elizabeth Buerkle (1732-1760). They married on Aug 21 1753 in Benningen. Johann Jacob Kaes was born on Oct 16 1730 and died on Oct 24 1794, both in Benningen. Anna Elizabeth Buerkle was born on Nov 30 1732 and died on Nov 26 1760, both in Benningen. The parents of Johann Jacob Kaes were Johann Georg Kaes (b. abt 1704) and Anna Margaretha Thomas (b. July 26 1700 in Benningen). They married on Nov 10 1729 in Benningen.
Finally, the parents of Johann Georg Kaess were Georg Kaes (1669-1755) and Anna Catharina Roestlin  (b. 1658). They married on  Nov 27 1703 in Benningen. Georg Kaes was born Jan 27 1669 in Burgstall, Germany and died on Jan 9 1755 in Benningen. Georg Kaess was the ‘first’ Kaess in Benningen. He eventually settled in Benningen after his marriage.
Therefore, Benningen am Neckar, Germany, has been the ‘Heimat’ of the Kaess Family for centuries.
Therefore, the Kaess Family Tree is elucidated.
